About Dr Ooi Hooi Leng

Dr Ooi commenced her practice at KPJ Klang Specialist Hospital effective July 2012. She graduated with MBBS from University Malaya in 1999 and obtained her MRCPCH from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health United Kingdom in 2004.
She had since served as a Paediatrician in Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang Hospital and Sungai Buloh Hospital. She was among the outstanding doctors awarded with the Selangor State Excellent Service Award in 2004.
In 2008, Dr Ooi commenced her subspecialty training in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at the National University Hospital Malaysia (HUKM) and Putrajaya Hospital. She was awarded the Australian Government Endeavour Award in 2011 and underwent one year Fellowship training at the Institute of Endocrinology and Diabetes, the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney Australia.

Dr Ooi is the accredited Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Endocrinologist by the National Specialist Register. She is also the inducted member of the College of Paediatrics, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia.

Dr Ooi has vast experience in the diagnosis and management of newborn conditions and childhood diseases. Her clinical interests include Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents, short stature and growth disorders, obesity, thyroid and adrenal disorders, disorders of puberty and metabolic bone diseases in children.
