About Dr Mahayidin Muhamad

Dr. Mahayidin obtained his M.D. from U.K.M. in 1982. In 1991 he obtained his M.Med in radiology from the same university. He obtained his A.M., Malaysia in 2001. Prior to his entry as resident consultant radiologist at KPJ Perdana Specialist Hospital (KPJ Perdana) in 2002, he has been a consultant radiologist and senior lecturer in the School of Medical Sciences, U.S.M. in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan for 12 years. He also has undergone fellowship attachment in 1996 at the Cancer Institute Hospital in Tokyo under JSPS programme in collaboration with the University of Tokyo. Other post-graduate CME courses that he has attended were in China, Thailand and also Singapore. He has clinical exposure in all the imaging modalities during post graduate training at U.K.M., U.M.M.C and K.L. hospital and as radiologist at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM). These include plain radiography, special contrast studies, fluoroscopy (conventional and digital), mammography with stereotaxic biopsy, lesion localisation and galactography, ultrasonography; including duplex Doppler studies, computed tomography, radionuclide imaging, angiography (conventional and digital) and M.R.I. He is also competent in performing interventional procedures which include image guided biopsy and therapeutic procedures. He is also an approved panel radiologist granted by the Australian government for the radiology reports for persons who are required to undergo medical examination before going to Australia and New Zealand. His academic contribution to the post graduate training programme i.e. M.Med Radiology (USM) is on-going by having regular tutorial sessions with the year 1, 3 and 4 trainees which are conducted at the Diagnostic Imaging Services, KPJ Perdana.
