Dr. Mohamad bin Hamzah is a pioneer doctor and pioneer Consultant ENT: Head & Neck Surgeon in KPJ Perdana Specialist Hospital since 2002. He is fully registered with Malaysian Medical Council and accredited as Otorhinolaryngology by the National Specialist Register in 2007. Dr. Mohamad graduated from Ain Shams University, Egypt with MBBCH in 1984. He then worked in University Hospital, Kuala Lumpur and later in General Hospital Kuala Lumpur. He obtained his Master of Surgery (ORL, Head & Neck) from UKM in 1993. He was sent for postgraduate training in Otology and FESS in ICOT, Savannah, Georgia, USA in 1994 and did a fellowship in FESS in the University of Sydney in 1996. He served as a Lecturer and ENT Consultant in Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia for ten years starting from 1993. During his tenure, he was appointed as Head of ENT Department for five years (1994-1998). He initiated the postgraduate ENT programme in USM Medical School and helped to establish Rhinology service in HUSM, Kubang Kerian. He was promoted to an Associate Professor in 2000. He has 15 years post graduate experience in Ear, Nose and Throat surgeries and is an expert in Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) for which he is a frequent invited speaker and trainer in FESS courses. He is a founder member of ASEAN Rhinologic Group and was Assistant Secretary General of Islamic Specialist Doctors Association of Malaysia (ISDAM). He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Pakistan Journal of ORL-Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Mohamad is currently the Chairman of Jamaah Islah Malaysia (JIM), Kelantan Branch and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Aman.
