Dr. Zanariah obtained her Medical Degree from University of Malaya in 1989 and Master of Medicine from University Sains Malaysia in 1997. She worked as Senior Medical Officer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Departmentat Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia from 1989 until 1993. She served as a Registrar in Obstetrician & Gynaecology Department, HUSM for four years before enrolling for Master Program in 1993. She had working experience at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II and Kota Bharu Medical Centre, Kelantan. Starting from May 2002, she is a Resident Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Perdana Specialist Hospital. She has more than 10 years experience in O&G practice including maternal and women health care, Obstetric & Gynaecology operation (caesarian section, laparotomy for ovarian and uterine pathology, abdominal & vaginal hysterectomy). Being a life member of Kelantan Family Planning Association, she is actively involved in women’s counseling & screening programmes, family planning and other social activities including health talks.
